New Movies In The Next Few Months

Last year, we had a lot of blockbusters in the cinema world during the summer. From Superman to Lilo & Stitch to even a movie about F1, last year was certainly jam packed. This year, we have even more movies to make 2026 a truly memorable one!

The first movie that is coming out during the summer, specifically on May 1st is The Devil Wears Prada 2. With the core four returning from the 2006 hit The Devil Wears Prada (Streep, Hathaway, Blunt, and Tucci), The Devil Wears Prada 2 is coming out to be a pretty good movie. Although the movie's plot is not exactly expanded into detail, there are a few words about it. Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway) returns to Runway as her boss, Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep), takes on a new media landscape and Runway's position in it. They connect with Emily Charlton (played by Emily Blunt), a former assistant who now owns a luxury brand that can destroy or keep Runway in business. Knowing that the original Devil Wears Prada was a generation-defining hit, the sequel can be as electric as the old one.

Disney has decided to opt out of a fourth season of the Mandalorian, instead replacing it with the movie, The Mandalorian & Grogu, coming out on May 22nd. Directed by Jon Favreau with stars like Pedro Pascal and Jeremy Allen White playing characters like the Mandalorian himself and Rotta the Hutt, respectively. After the fall of the Galactic Empire, the remaining warlords scattered throughout the galaxy threaten it. The New Republic enlists Din Djarin and Grogu to rescue Jabba the Hutt's son, Rotta the Hutt in exchange for information on a New Republic target.

The Backrooms have evolved from a dumb internet movie to now a fully-fledged movie. How time flies! The Backrooms is an upcoming American science-fiction horror film directed by Kane Parsons. While the plot of the movie is not massively explained, we can assume that it will be similar to the Backrooms online. The plot of the movie is that a therapist enters another dimension unknowingly, in hunt for her missing patient.

Toy Story 5 is finally coming out on June 19. Toy Story 5 faces new challenges for the toys when a very realistic situation gets presented to them - the kids are switching from toys to electronics. We don't know much other than that, however, the film is directed by Andrew Stanton, the same person who directed Wall-E and Finding Nemo. Tom Hanks and Tim Allen are expected to return.

The Odyssey directed by Christopher Nolan is supposed to be one of the, if not, the best movie in 2026. It is an adaptation of Homer's ancient Greek epic poem. The film stars Matt Damon as Odysseus after returning from a gruesome journey due to the Trojan War. While he was away fighting in the Trojan War, his wife Penelope (portrayed by Anne Hathaway) has been surrounded by suitors who assume Odysseus is dead. The ensemble includes big stars like Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong'o, and so much more to make this movie truly one of the best. He will be forced to conquer the Cyclops Polyphemus, sirens, and the nymph Calypso, and so many more to save his wife.

The last movie before September, where there will be hopefully another article similar to mine will be Insidious: Out of the Further. Insidious is one of the scariest movies I have ever had the "pleasure" to watch. It is an upcoming horror film released on August 21, 2026. It is the sixth feature of the Insidious franchise, being a direct sequel to Insidious: The Red Door. Directed by Jacob Chase, it stars Amelia Eve, Brandon Perea, and Maisie Richardson-Sellers. While the plot is not really well known, with it coming out rapidly, keep an eye on it.
