What to Know about Spiderman: Brand New Day

Spiderman: Brand New Day is finally coming out - after four years of nothing since No Way Home. Seeing Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield, and Tobey Maguire swing around New York was an exhilarating experience, and fans have been excited for anything Spiderman related for some time now. And Marvel did not disappoint. According to the trailer, the movie is expected to be released on July 31st, 2026, during the peak of summer. Be warned, there are spoilers on previous Spiderman movies in this article.

In Spiderman: No Way Home, Spiderman's identity as Peter Parker was revealed, and the risks that he tried to prevent got revealed for the whole world to know who he is. He asks Dr. Strange to make all non-important people forget about his identity. However, as Spiderman ramps up the people to not forget him, Dr. Strange gets overwhelmed, and fails the spell. Actually, "failing the spell" would be an understatement. The spell goes dreadfully wrong, breaking the multiverse. This brings in a lot of new villains for Peter to deal with, and one wrong mistake could result in the world being destroyed.

In the trailer, there a lot to compact in a few minute trailer. The biggest shock in the trailer however, is Peter's new powers. Now, in the movies, Maguire's Spiderman has organic webs, Garfield's Spiderman has mechanical webs, and Holland's also had mechanical webs. But, according to the trailer, it looks like he is physically making his webs, which is similar to Maguire's Spiderman. I think, what the movie is hinting, that Spiderman is becoming Manspider.

Manspider is a feral mutation of Peter Parker that appears primarily in the comics. This is where he turns into a multi-limbed Spiderman, like the one in the image shown. In the trailer, the narrator says that spiders have three lives, and we see him in a actual web cocoon in the trailer. Therefore, we can think that he could actually end up as Manspider.

Furthermore, we saw a lot new characters from the comics and the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the trailer. We saw street gangs, Tombstone, and the Scorpion all in the trailer. However, we did see the Hulk and the Punisher in the trailer, too. It seems like they'll both be some sort of mentor to Peter, however, nothing is confirmed. I honestly think that the Punisher will become a friend-turned-enemy situation, while the Hulk will remain as a side character.

Therefore, to say Spiderman: Brand New Day won't be the most anticipated movie in the summer will be an understatement. This is all the knowledge we know from the trailer, however, with July 31st fast approaching, the Hound will keep you covered with all the Spiderman: Brand New Day news, so stay tuned!
