NBA Playoffs Predictions
Learn more about how things turn out during this exciting season!

With the six months of pure NBA basketball ending, playoffs are now setting. With sixteen teams, all trying to beat each other out in a series of seven, who will come out as the Basketball World Champion for the 25-26 NBA Season?
Well, I wish this was as simple as says. Remember in 2022 and 2023 when the eight seed Miami Heat went all the way to the finals to eventually go to the Finals? Well, I can assure you no one would've ever thought that, as the Miami Heat barely won against the Bulls in the play-in tournament. Since then, I couldn't really estimate who would win the finals - regardless of seed and quality of team. I mean, I really thought the Bucks would make a deep playoff run, with winning the finals just two years ago. However, in 5, Miami only won by two to upset the Milwaukee Bucks.
So, here goes nothing. Here is my bracket for the NBA Playoffs.
For the 10th seed vs 9th seed play-in games, in the Eastern, I have the Charlotte Hornets beating the Miami Heat. I feel like this game will be close, but, when the Hornets starting five play, they have an exceptional record at 27 - 5, with winning their last game against the Heat. It is currently looking like the Hornets will be playing the Heat with all their starters, so I have the Hornets winning this game. In the west, it is the Warriors vs. Clippers. I think it's anyone's game, but I have the Clippers winning. Even if Curry is playing to his best, he's old, and the Clippers have a lot more younger talent with them - especially with Garland. Again this can be anyone's guess, but I do have the Clippers winning.
For the 7th vs. 8th play-in games, the first game will be the Suns vs. the Trail Blazers, and I have the Suns winning - but just by enough to scoot by. They need to win this game, to show if they should move from Booker and rebuild, or to stay for long enough to keep their Durant trade ample and well-thought of. I have the Magic winning against the 76ers. With Embiid being sidelined for the 6ers, and as much as I love Edgecombe and Maxey, they can't do much without their star.
Now, for the playoffs. Again, the playoffs are long, so our team at the Hound will make sure to keep you updated. Let's start it off hot with the Oklahoma City Thunder vs. the Clippers, Warriors, or the Suns, depending on who wins that final play-in game. But, let's be honest -- it's the Thunder. Thunder beats all teams, no matter who wins, sweeping the Clippers and beating the Warriors and Suns in five.

For the east, it will be the Pistons vs. the Hornets, 76ers, or Magic. None of these teams really stand a shot - except the Hornets. Again, if they continue to be blazing hot, this can actually go to six or seven. But, the Pistons, with Cade and Thompson, are probably going to win, no matter the team. See, this would be the obvious - but they're young. Too young. This is the first time most have made the playoffs, which is why I don't think they're going to exactly sweep, maybe five or six. But also, the Hornets, 76ers, and Magic are fairly young or entirely new to the playoffs, so I don't think it's a major tradeoff.

Going back to the West, it will be Lakers vs. Rockets. As much as I love my GOAT Lebron, Doncic and Reaves will be sidelined indefinitely, even if Luka is begging to play by putting steroids into his injured hamstrings in Spain. I think the Rockets win in four, maybe in five if Lebron actually puts up a threat. But, he's 41, older than some parents, so I don't except Lebron to actually act like he was when playing for the Cavaliers. The Rocket's probably won't get far, but they probably win against Lebron and friends.

In the East, here comes the Cavaliers vs. (my) Raptors. Toronto has won against the Cavaliers all three times, but with the pressure radiating from the city, I don't honestly know if Scottie and Ingram continue to thrive. With the Cavaliers having James Harden, who is actively chasing his first ring, it looks like a dominant performance from the Cavaliers. I predict the Cavs winning in five or six. At least we made it to the playoffs!

The Nuggets vs. the Timberwolves in the West is a bit different. I honestly have the Timberwolves winning in 7. Although the Nuggets have a higher seed, the T-Wolves went father in the playoffs, losing to the eventual champions, the Thunder. Also, in 2024, the Timberwolves also won against the Nuggets in seven. So, honestly, anyone's game, but, I like the Wolves more, so give me Wolves in 7.

The Hawks vs. the Knicks are shaping to be a pretty good game in the East Conference. But, honestly, unlike the West, I don't have the Hawks making it past the Knicks. The Knicks are simply better, and this is coming from an Atlanta fan, but there is simply no way. Sure, the Hawks won against the Knicks last year, but they basically changed their roster, relying on Jalen Johnson than Trae Young. The Knicks now has experience - Jalen Brunson and K.A.T.. So simply, I don’t believe the Hawks will beat the Knicks, maybe one explosion from Jalen Johnson. Knicks in 5.

Finally, to wrap up Round 1 in the East, the Celtics vs. either the Magic or the 76ers. I have the Celtics winning, having a deep playoff run last year, winning the championship a few years ago, and plus with more experience, AND with Tatum coming back. Not looking good for two mid teams, especially with Embiid out.

To wrap up Round 1 in the West, it is the Spurs vs. the Trail Blazers. The Blazers aren't a good team, but Dame trying to get a ring can be scary. And with most of the Spurs entering the playoffs for the first time, it can be anyone's game - if it wasn't the Spurs. The Spurs are an amazing team with high amount of potential, and Wemby might enter a whole different type of beast mode. Give me the Spurs in 6.

We'll keep you posted on how this turns out.
