Guitarfest 2026 Recap
Fireworks, amazing music, and a promposal? This was a great night!

Last Friday was Guitarfest. Many students got up on stage and performed, and it was a wonderful experience. Mr. Boytchuk, our band teacher who has put a lot of time and effort into this event says, "Nothing beats an outdoor concert in my books. Guitarfest has always been my favourite night of the school year. The energy and passion from the performers and audience is undeniable. Everything a community event should be." Today I will talk about some of the highlights of Guitarfest in case you missed it, or if you just want a recap.
The Taco truck

Delicious tacos were provided for all of the students. These were some of the best tacos I have ever had in my life. People are complaining about the $19 price for only two tacos, but I would argue that you are technically getting 4 tacos because these tacos were filled to the brim and were basically overflowing, there were also two secondary wraps under the first two, so all of the filling that fell out of the primary tacos fell into the wraps, creating a whole second taco. It's simple math, really.
The Fireworks

There was an awesome firework show after the guitar show was over. It lasted about 10 minutes, and it was beautiful.
Promposal

During Guitarfest, they took a break between songs so that Elliott Gardiner could prompose to Ceren Gunaydin. This was really sweet and I felt like I had to include it.
The Music

I'm sure you've all been waiting for this one, our talented performers played many songs including: Bohemian Rhapsody, Get Him Back, I'm Still Standing, etc. It was amazing to see how much talent we have at our school.
I hope this article has encouraged you to perform in (or at least attend) Guitarfest next year! Huge thank you to Mr. Boytchuk and everyone else who helped for putting so much time and effort into this event. A video of the concert will be available on Appleby's YouTube channel shortly.
