Pledge for Summer Uniforms Year-Round

When compared with the standard first dress uniforms that involve the blazer, tie, dress shirt and dress pants/skirts, polos clearly stand out as the more comfortable option. Yet they are only accessible for a very small fraction of the school year, and let's not forget that summer uniforms aren't cheap. So why not make the choice to wear polos accessible year round?
The primary reasons schools require students to wear first dress or formal wear is to properly represent the school with the logo stitched onto the fabric, introduce equality as students all wear the same outfit, thus eliminating the social hierarchy in that aspect; and support discipline through instilling a sense of responsibility when wearing a formal uniform, which in theory, should encourage to continue treating their peers with respect.
Polo uniforms satisfy all the criteria shown above. The logo remains on the front that represents the school and helps security systems identify those who are not students of Appleby. Although it may not be considered a "formal outfit" the Appleby community has continued to gain the reputation of being extremely welcoming and helpful. Students continue to treat each other with respect regardless of uniform. Polos should not replace the first dress uniform, but rather be provided as an option that is accessible to everyone
